Ma première commande Etsy d'un béguin Daphné! / My first Etsy order for a Daphne baby hat!

L'hiver est là et les bonnets viennent se visser sur les têtes des petits comme des grands. J'avais lancé ma page Etsy au printemps dernier, en décalage complet avec la danse des saisons... autant dire que personne ne s'y est intéressé au moment où l'on pense plus légèreté que bonnet! Pas même moi finalement puisque le tutoriel promis dans les semaines suivant mon post qui lançait le modèle Daphné n'a jamais vu le jour. C'est ainsi que je me suis endormie sur mes bien maigres lauriers...

Il y a un peu plus d'une semaine, j'ai eu la belle surprise d'une commande d'un béguin Daphné sur le site Etsy. Je ne m'étais pas préparée à cela et pourtant nous étions à l'époque idéale pour une telle commande. Ni une ni deux j'ai pris mes aiguilles et, après quelques ajustements souhaités à l'époque de la création du béguin, je me suis attelée à tout noter dans le moindre détail. Et un tutoriel est cette fois en train de prendre forme pour de bon. Je pense que je pourrais le mettre en ligne assez rapidement et cela fera l'objet d'un tout prochain article!

Winter is here and hats come to appear on everyone's heads. I have created my Etsy page last spring, completely out of sync with the dance of seasons... so to say that no one got any interest in it when you think more about light clothing than about warm hats! Not even myself since the tutorial I promised to make in the weeks following the creation of my Etsy page never came into reality. That's how I fell asleep on my very poor laurels...

A little over a week ago, I had the nice surprise of an order for a Daphne baby hat coming from my Etsy webstore page. I wasn't prepared for that yet this was the ideal season for such an order. I took my needles straight away and, after some adjustments I wanted to make months ago, I engaged to note down everything in the smallest detail. And a tutorial is now taking shape for good. I think this will be online pretty quickly and be the subject of an upcoming article!

Ensemble bébé inspiré du cardigan Maile / Maile Sweater inspired baby set

Voici un ensemble tricoté à partir du modèle de cardigan Maile créé par Nikki Van De Car, dont le tuto se trouve ici (attention, tuto en anglais!). Le modèle n'existe qu'en 3 mois. Je l'ai réalisé avec la laine Alpaca mix de Drops, qui donne un rendu doux et aérien.

Après avoir terminé le cardigan, j'ai réalisé des chaussons et un béguin assortis (et qui reprennent le dessin ajouré du bas du cardigan).

Cet ensemble ira à ravir à une petite fille qui doit voir le jour dans mon entourage cet été...

Here is a baby set knitted from the Maile Sweater model by Nikki Van De car. You can find the 3 months size pattern in English here. I have used Alpaca mix yarn by Drops, which makes the finished work look soft and aerial.

The cardigan finished, I made matching baby booties and bonnet (which repeat the pattern found at the bottom of the sweater).

This set should nicely fit a little baby girl that will be born this summer...

Le béguin Daphné / Daphné baby bonnet

Je travaille depuis quelques temps sur un béguin que j'ai nommé Daphné, du prénom de ma fille de deux ans. Il s'agit de ma première création originale et je tenais à lui donner un nom spécial à mes yeux. Ce rapprochement n'est pas étonnant car ce béguin lui ressemble : il me parle de douceur et d'espièglerie! C'est tout elle!

Je vends sur Etsy quelques modèles tricotés de ce béguin et je m'attèle à en rédiger le tutoriel. Il devrait être accessible d'ici quelques semaines. Je le réalise en laine mérinos, une laine que je trouve intéressante pour le travail de graphisme bien défini qu'elle autorise. Il est tricoté aux aiguilles 4 mm et les tailles disponibles iront de la naissance à 3 ans.

I have been working for a while on a baby bonnet that I have named Daphné after my two-year-old daughter. This is my first original creation and I wanted to give it a special name, as the bonnet resembles her : sweetness and mischievousness! that's all who she is!

I sell some models of this baby bonnet on Etsy and I'm currently writing its pattern. It should be available within a few weeks. I knit it with merino wool, which I find interesting for the well defined graphic designing it allows. The bonnet is knitted with 4 mm needles (US 6) and available sizes will be from birth to 3 year-old.

With no further delay, here are some pictures.

Hello !

To inaugurate this blog, I present to you a model of pixie hat with tassel and assorted snood that I have created in Chinese wave stitch. This pixie hat fits a 2 or 3 years old child. It is a warm and cosy model as the Chinese wave stitch makes it sturdy and thick, ideal for the cold days.
